This is some recent cover work I did for a client. I saved some of the step by step process on this one, I'm glad I did, as I move forward with a piece I usually end up saving over the previous stages.
Here's a caricature of a friend of mine that I did recently, on this piece I was Trying out a new chalk pencil I created in Photoshop. It has a natural feel to it when I use it, I'll be adding this one to my collection.
When my daughter was little she spent about eighty percent of her time in a chicken suit that we had picked up for her for Halloween. She loved that suit! It was cozy, like a safety blanket, it also gave her security, almost like a super hero suit. I'm working on capturing her personality with these.
I've put together a space scene using my character from the last post. I researched some old black and white sci-fi photos to use as inspiration for this one. Next I'll work this over in grey scale and see what I come with, this one should be fun.
I was drawing with my son and his friend, we were throwing ideas around and came up with this Space Cat, with a sort of retro sci-fi feel. This one was about a twenty minute exercise. I'll try out a grey scale with this character and post shortly.
Beginning today, I am starting each morning with a short exercise (30 min.) to expand my knowledge. It also lets me show that I'm working since none of my current projects can be posted right away. This was an exercise in silhouetting.
